About Brisbane Car Inspection

We work for the buyer. That is it

No dealership sends us customers. We do not sell vehicles, arrange finance or run a repair shop. Our job is simply to inspect the car in front of you and give you an honest view of its condition. That is what you are paying us for.

Our story

Started because a mate bought a lemon

A friend once spent $18,000 on a ute that looked excellent on the outside. Within a month, the gearbox needed replacing. He had asked the seller all the usual questions and received all the usual answers. The problem was that nobody had properly checked underneath the car.

That experience shaped the business. Buying a used car is one of the biggest purchases most people make, yet buyers are often expected to judge one during a short test drive, in traffic, while the seller is sitting beside them.

Since then, we have inspected vehicles across Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich from dealer yards and private driveways to auction pickups and cars parked on the roadside. We still go out and inspect the vehicles ourselves.

An inspection costs far less than discovering a major problem after you have bought the car. That simple idea is still at the centre of everything we do, and we have never needed to sell anything else to make our service worthwhile.

Brisbane Car Inspection

Independence

Four things we will not do

Lots of vehicle inspection businesses describe themselves as independent. We think that should mean something practical, so here is what our independence looks like when it comes to the way we work.

We take no work from dealers

There are no dealer referrals, discounts or volume deals behind our car inspections. Dealers have never paid us for work and that will not change. Our reports need to be based on what we find, not on keeping someone who sells cars happy.

We do not repair what we find

We do not operate a workshop and we do not repair the vehicles we inspect. If a car needs work, there is nothing for us to gain by making the problem sound worse. We can simply tell you what we found and let you decide what to do.

We report the car we saw

If the car checks out well, we will say that clearly. If we find problems, they go into the report too. The purpose of an inspection is not to find faults for the sake of finding them. It is to give you an accurate picture of the vehicle we actually inspected.

We will tell you to walk away

Sometimes the right advice is not to buy the car. We are prepared to have that conversation when the conditions or risks make it necessary. Losing one inspection is a much smaller cost than leaving a buyer with a car they should never have purchased.

How we work

The part you cannot see

You are usually not there while the inspection is happening. That means the process has to be consistent whether you are watching us or not. These are the standards we follow on every vehicle.

The same checklist, every time

We work through a fixed car inspection checklist in the same order on every vehicle. A seller being in a hurry or poor lighting should not mean important areas are simply missed.

We photograph what we find

Faults and significant findings are supported with photographs wherever possible. If we tell you something is wrong, you should be able to see what we saw. It makes the report clearer and keeps our assessment accountable.

We give the car enough time

Depending on the package, we spend between 90 minutes and three hours inspecting the vehicle. We do not squeeze two inspections into the same appointment just to get more cars through the day.

Every car inspection follows the same standard

  • Written report provided the same day
  • A call from the inspector who checked the vehicle
  • PPSR check included with Standard and Premium
  • Findings priced where possible to help with negotiations
  • No fee if we cannot access the vehicle
